The folk song "Kalinka" was used as the basis for this alternate. I could easily see it being Peter's music so that each Russian leader has their own unique music (since I'd let Stalin keep the Volga Boat song as a nod to Civ I).
The Industrial/Modern version is from the Red Army Choir rendition of the the song. The first verse was trimmed for size and song length considerations, but can easily be replaced if there's enough of a demand for it.
