This is a huge map of Europe featuring 18 Civilizations.
It favors historical/geographical accuracy over balanced game-play by a ratio of about 75:25, which basically means each Civ has a fighting chance at ultimate victory but some Civs definitely have an easier path to walk to get there. Each Civ starts off with it's relatively traditional 'homeland' revealed. There are some 'colonies' off in the Northern Atlantic. Each of the islands represents an area of Earth offering resources that can't be found in Europe- Silks, Spices, Sugars, Bananas, etc. One of them has silks and rice like china, another has corn, gold, and copper like south america, etc. The Civs in Western Europe will definitely have a bigger advantage at claiming one or more of these colonies, but they are open for ANY Civ to acquire. Some Civs have had their colors changed - I mean, who doesn't wanna be red while the march Praets across Europe right? ;P
This is a no-joke map of Europe. It's been around since Vanilla, but no one has ever really made much use of it, probably because of it's ENORMOUS size. This map's file is 763KB. To give you an idea of how big that is, the 'Earth18Civs' map is 722KB. The actual map itself, however, has about TWICE as many land tiles at the Earth18Civs counter part does.
The Civs:
Rome - Julius Caesar
Byzantium - Justinian
England - Victoria
Germany - Bismarck
France - Louis XIV
Spain - Isabella
Russia - Catherine
Vikings - Ragnar
Portugal - Joao II
Netherlands - Willem Van Oranje
Arabia - Saladin
Babylon - Hammurabi
Ottomans - Mehmed
Carthage - Hannibal
-also featuring-
Hungary (Holy Rome) - Istvan I (Charlemagne)
Ukraine (Russia) - Ivan Potcoava (De Gaulle)
Poland (Russia) - Casimir III (Churchill)
Armenia (Sumeria) - Haik (Brennus)
