Civilization III Patch v1.29f (English) 2016-10-05

this is where I got it from, the CNET link was not working in Chrome or in Edge.

Sub bug returns after fixing it in an earlier verison,
( sub is collided with by allied AI attempting to pass through its square and the two firendly civs are now at war)
Houseboat bug still there (game locks up if civ destroyed and their settler on the map somewhere in a transport

WHen the patch works will it say so in the bottom left corner or will it still say 1.07????:D

All I had to do was put the disc into the computer, uninstall the game, reinstall it, and it worked again! I didn't lose any of my saved games, either!

Thanks everyone for the patching info. I have just successfully upgraded my Civ3 v1.07f to v1.29f. For the record, and for the benefit of anyone new to patching, here is what I did:

1. I installed Civ3 v1.07f from the CD.

2. I downloaded the v1.29f patch (above), which is an exe file. I then ran the exe file.

3. I then tried to run Civ3, and encountered the dread 'load the CD-ROM' message, which abruptly terminated the game.

4. So I went to the link provided by Sacred57 (thanks!), downloaded and unzipped two files, and copied them into my Civ3 folder (C:\Program Files\Civ3). Since one of the files is named Civilization3.exe, this replaced the original file. Despite the fact that the orginal file was substantially bigger than the new file, everything seems to work OK.

how do i install this bloody thing?????? and hwo do i install conquest? i mean, i download it to my zipfiles, but how do i get it in the game? sombody plz help.

I am having the same problem too. Sure would appreciate any help. 1.07 works fine but when I install this patch it constantly tells me to insert the disc. :mad:

Is this a Windows only patch? I can't seem to find v1.29f for the Mac, just the 1.22 for Complete.

Upgraded my ver. 1.07 with this 1.29 patch just couple of days ago. works fine, loads old savegames ok. The only thing which caused some "illegal action" or smth. errors was: loading old save, playing forward and trying to retire/quit without saving in between. enjoy, it will be a new game

I also have version 1.07 but I successfully downloaded and installed this 1.29 patch. Everything works fine. I did, however, delete all of my saved games from the Civ3 directory beforehand (don't know if this will help, but my saves were badly-played games, anyway).
Off to a fresh start!

You are not the only one stuck with the problem.

I ask the same question long time ago. It seems a copy protection scheme gone awry.

If someone knows a patch that really works, please post the link.

I have version 1.07. WHen I install this patch my game no longer runs and I have to reinstall it. What gives:mad:
