The Copts are the native people of Egypt who are still predominantly Coptic Orthodox, which split from Roman Catholic Orthodoxy in AD 451. Being the majority of the population of Egypt until the middle ages they were sometimes employed by the Muslim Arabic dynasties that ruled Egypt.
