Your race has emerged from the Age of Ice and begun settling around the edges of an ancient forest that seems to have somehow survived the perpetual winter. Gradually tales begin to spread, not just of other surviving civilizations, but of a dark master within the heart of the forest. Eventually a wordless understanding is reached. You are safe from his most fearsome minions within your borders, but are considered prey once beyond the palisade. Unfortunately no such promise is given by the orcs and wardrums are already beating faintly on the borderlands as they too have emerged back into the light...
This is a normal-sized map loaded with 15 civilizations for those with smaller processors or who simply like a faster game experience. It is designed for the outstanding Fall From Heaven II mod.
Notes:
1) This scenario is loosely inspired by the Coldfire Trilogy by C.S. Friedman.
2) The Forest is designed to be unsettleable until later in the game.
3) This is a WorldBuilder save. Put it in that folder for Civ Vanilla. It is a WinRAR archive.
4) Certain resources are deliberately scarce in certain areas of the map and abundant in others. This is designed to stimulate both trade and potential conflict.
5) While most of the Forest residents won't enter your borders the same cannot be said for the orcs. Your starting palisade will help, but the elders suggest preparing some other defences quickly. Your sages estimate you've got about 50+ years before the Horde begins to descend upon civilization.
6) Feedback is welcome.
