GAMAL ABDEL NASSER
This is Gamal Abdel Nasser, part one of a set of four leaderheads I'll be putting out over the next few days (well, as long as I'm not too hungover).
This one has been requested for a while, so I'm sure there will be plenty of interest. He was the second President of Egypt, and integral in Egypt's transformation into a Democratic form of government (loosely Democratic at least). He was a major player in both the non-aligned movement during the cold war as well as the Pan-Arabic movement, which pushed towards modernity and a quasi-secular state, culminating in the short-lived United Arab Republic of which he was President. He is credited with modernizing Egypt and stands as one of, if not the most important figures in modern Arab history.
He will appear as a leader for Arabia in my upcoming mod Diplomacy II, but I suppose he could also be used as an Egyptian leader as well. Here is the ArtDefines:
