The Semovente rotated da 90/53 Breda 501 is an Italian armoured truck, designed during the Second World War and built in two prototypes. During the campaign in North Africa, the Royal Italian Army had successfully employed numerous rotated self-propelled vehicles, in particular the powerful 90/53 on Lancia 3Ro and Breda 52 . Despite the excellent weapon and the excellent mobility of the two heavy trucks, these solutions did not allow the transport of an adequate amount of ammunition and above all they proved vulnerable. In 1942, the Ministry of War therefore required a highly mobile self-propelled vehicle that could support armoured divisions. In 1943, the Breda prototype was completed and in July and it carried out tests at the
Centro Esperienze d'Artiglieria di Nettuno, but the armistice of September 8 put an end to the program.
