The Medes Civilization 1

Adds the Medes to the game as a playable Civ instead of Babylon.

  1. DdMi
Hi, When I played Sid Meier’s Civilization V (The Complete Edition) for first time, it made me really upset and disappointed because I saw strange civs & tribes (that of course all of them are dear & and respectable) but I couldn’t found one of the greatest civilizations of the world history; Yes, The Kurds and their civ Kurdistan. Anyway no Kurds can be understanding but why they (game makers & developers) didn’t insert one of the ancestors of the Kurds (like The Medes)???!!! Finally, I decided to put Kurdistan or one of the ancestors of the Kurds myself. I started to search for it but didn’t found anything (except a few cases) useful; so I thought that I should make it myself but for some reasons it didn’t too. Eventually one day when I was looking to the game’s civilopedia, the Babylon civ attracted my attention; that was amazing, I understood that the Babylon civ has a really excellent potential to convert to the Medes Civ; And when I survey more my guesses become true. So… I did it.

It took a lot of time to do this so didn’t worry about anything. (of course mistakes can occur always)

With all this, this mod has a one problem (if it can be called problem) and that is that I couldn’t change the map of Babylon civ (when you select your civ in the select civs menu) that I think this isn’t an important problem or issue.

Installation instructions: This is very simple, just put (and certainly replace all of them) the files in given directions after unzip. There are three files: 1- “DLC_Deluxe” Put it in C/Sid Meier’s Civilization V Directory/Assests/DLC

2- “DLC_Deluxe (Spies)” First put it somewhere in your computer and change file name to DLC_Deluxe then put it in C/Sid Meier’s Civilization V Directory/Assests/DLC/Expansion/DLC

    3- “CIV5GameTextInfos2_Inherited_Expansion2.xml” Put it in C/Sid Meier’s Civilization V Directory/Assests/DLC/Expansion2/Gameplay/XML/Text/en_US

4- You should delete a folder called "English" (its name depends on what language that you use) in this direction: C/Sid Meier’s Civilization V Directory/Assests/DLC/DLC_Deluxe/Sounds/Speech
If you don't do it, the speech sound file will play when game on loading screen that it is irrelevant and annoying.

It’s Done; now play the game with “The Medes” led by “Cyaxares the Great” as a playable civ.

Attention: 1- Babylon civ didn’t remove completely, the Babylon & Akkad cities are now on of the Median cities.

2- This is a kind of objection to Civilization V game makers, programmers, developers etc.

Thanks to everyone who has done this before.
