This mod makes OIL USEFUL. It adds 5 new buildings (including 1 national wonder) and 1 new world wonder.

The point of this mod is to make OIL more important than it was before. To make oil an ACTUAL STRATEGIC RESOURCE. MANY MILITARY UNITS NOW REQUIRE OIL! (CHECK BELOW FOR FULL LIST). WORRIED THAT YOU WON'T HAVE ENOUGH OIL? THAT'S WHAT THE NEW BUILDINGS ARE FOR!!

1) Go to MODS, 2) Activate this mod, 3) Play the game with the mod!

NEW BUILDINGS:
- Geological Survey
- Oil Fields (requires Geological Survey before it can be built)
- Oil Pipeline (requires Oil Fields)
- Oil Refinery (requires Oil Fields)
- Deep Drilling Platform (requires oil refineries to be built in 5 cities)
NEW WONDER:
- OPEC world wonder (requires a Deep Drilling Platform in the city it is being built in)
GAMEPLAY CHANGES:
- Oil Resource, when worked, now provides +2 Gold, +1 production
- Military Base now requires 1 oil resource
- Most units that now require 1 oil in addition to whatever other resource they require are in the modern/information age.
Units that require 1 oil resource in addition to whatever other resource they already required:
- Missile Cruiser
- Carrier
- Submarine
- Destroyer
- Stealth Bomber
- Jet Fighter
- Modern Armor
- Helicopter Gunship
- Rocket Artillery
- Mechanized Infantry

Also, if you don't have oil near you, build refineries (remember also the autocracy tree eventually provides +100% strategic resource quanitity effectively doubling your oil resources). If you still need more oil, considering invading and taking it!
Also, the point IS NOT TO HAVE OIL PLENTIFUL. Why invade if you already have all the oil you need? The oil refinies and deep drilling platform should give you a good amount of oil already (+ the autocracy social policy will provide +100% more oil if you go down it).
Say you have 5 cities = 15 oil from oil refinies (5 oil refineries) + 10 oil from deep drilling platform = a base of 25 oil resources + (if you can get it) OPEC = (25+12) 37 oil resources + autocracy = 74 OIL RESOURCES WITHOUT HAVING ANY OIL RESOURCE WORKED! Imagine if you had 10 cities? or 20 cities? This all without even having oil resources you can make them from the oil refineries! Imagine normal oil resources on the map!

:: Revision 2 - removed oil requirement for guided missile. also increased maximum refineries buildable to 10; deep drilling platform now requires 5 oil refineries in your cities rather than having a oil refinery in every city.
:: Revision 3 -
- OPEC world wonder now provides +12 oil resources and +12 gold
- Oil pipeline increased max buildable to 20
- Oil Refinery now provides +2 oil resources instead of +1. cost increased from 650 to 750, max buildable increased to 20.
- Deep drilling platform now provides +8 oil resources instead of +3.
