Tried the Louis-start. @King Younk I think you could improve your early game a lot. Understanding the early game will make everything so much...
The main issue with corporations is that they are competing with state property, which is not easy to beat.
I would definitely not raze a size 4 city and build a settler, as that's some ~250:hammers: sacrifice. Keep Bantu and found a city on desert hill...
This. While with more AI:s the diplo is a mess, the trade game abuse is insanely powerful.
Well, I admit not having played a ton of huge/marathon games. Perhaps it's just that the problems are somewhat different? Marathon makes wars a...
Close to everything.

I think huge maps add perhaps one difficulty level. Marathon removes roughly two, so your emperor/huge/mara are about as difficult as normal...
Also, as already pointed out, the scouting was insane. :crazyeye: You went what, 15 tiles away from capital? Most of the time that will just cause...

you gain a very weak city

I think also 1NW gets them (the SIP-tile connects the rivers), but not sure.
I would ditch 10 riverside plains in a heartbeat for +1:hammers: cc. Having 10 or 20 river tiles in a capital matters very little, unless they are...
@Fabled The thing is, you have many good tiles so you can live without the whip. At size 3 you can work double corn and mined stone for...
True, maybe it's too late. Takes 9T to whip one out in 2nd city.
edit: perhaps 2 workers, build the damn road, save overflow+chop in capital to...
