You are correct. As long as you shorten the city names and keep under the max limit you'll be fine.

It has to do with the city names and a maximum amount of characters being reaching when all of the city names are counted. There can only be 2550...

In my HOF game I am the purple civ, thus my own key civ, and my 255th tech did not cost me nearly 32,000 beakers; more around 3,500.
If the Demo player can survive the mid game portion and establish his power democracy, he should be able to wipe out any other player in the end game.
It's always fun to see when people will see some of the little things I do to these games. :D
