Hi everyone!

I’m a big fan of the Bronze Age — it’s one of my favorite historical periods — and I’ve been thinking about creating a mod or scenario for Civilization III: Conquests, inspired by the Mesopotamia scenario.

My main idea is to imagine what if the Bronze Age civilizations had survived and continued evolving into the Iron Age.
The mod would feature a progression from Bronze → Iron, where civilizations could upgrade and evolve their units over time.
For example:

  • The Hittites could start with their unique 3-man chariot during the Bronze Age, and later upgrade it to a stronger Iron Age version with more hit points, but also higher cost, requiring Iron and Horses.

Another idea is to use anime-style portraits (static images) for the leaders, and possibly also for advisors and citizens, to give the mod a unique and artistic visual identity.

Would anyone be interested in helping or advising me on how to make this — especially regarding unit evolution, graphics, and adding custom leader/advisor art?

Thanks in advance!

The Mesopotamia scenario also made me dive deep into Civ3 and inspired me to create units for a scenario that I ultimately never finished. So now you already have units on the forum that you can keep improving as technology progresses. The only thing left is to make another scenario, there haven’t been many of those released here so far.

In my eyes anime-style leader and advisor images will ruin the complete historical view and convert such a mod/scenario to a comic.
