I can't see any resources, forrest ect, On my tiles. All i see is a big empty waste land textured with grass and desert. I get information on the resources and such when moving my mouse over some tiles, but i can't see any of them.

AMD 64 3800+
1024 MB Corsair XMS Ram
nVidia Geforce 7900GT 256MB DDR3
AC97 intregated sound.

The game didn't work with the latest nVidia drives, so i downloaded a Beta drive since that is as new as it gets, and i still have the same problem.

Anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks.

Bump?:mischief:

Seriously, this is getting annoying. I love the game so much yet i can't play it.. Someone please help me.

Strange as it may seem, you may have better luck with slightly older drivers, if you can find them. Newest is not always best, from what I have heard and read on here.

You could also check out the manufacturer's website for updated drivers - your card may have an nVidia chip but the generic driver from nVidia may not always be suitable if the manufacturer has made their own tweaks to the card. You might have better luck with drivers written specifically for your hardware make/model.

One further thought - is this the vanilla game you have installed or have you added any 3rd party files lately? There is a bad file circulating at present that causes loss of terrain details apparently. Please don't yell at me for suggesting this I'm just trying to help by discounting other possibilities.

Correct me if i'm wrong, But isn't 84.21 the drive that adds support for the 7900GT Overall? I belive it's the one and only drive for it and the one that's shipped with it (Atleast mine was). There's a beta for the 84.42 Drive, and that's it.

My Civ4 is as plain as it gets. The patch is all i've installed on it. And do mind, it didn't work better without the patch.

Same problem here, no graphics on tiles since updating to 1.61. It didn't happen previous to this patch. Yes I have a legal copy as well.

I am still waiting to play this freakin game properly, I mean I only bought it on the release date, but hey, at least its progress:mad:

Oh yeah specs are:
WInXP Pro(legal)
P4 3Ghz HT
2 Gb Ram
Nvidia 6800GT PCI-e
Aopen Mobo 915 Chipset

The problem described was allocated to non-cd cracks in German forums.

Seems that pirating doesn't pay off :-)

I've got a legal installed. Anyone else have any ideas on what could be causeing it?

Hist, I was just wondering if the graphics are/were OK for you on the previous version 1.51 with your present hardware?

My reasoning is that 1.61 seems to have introduced some new checks and perhaps you are falling foul of these if you have certain other programs present on your PC e.g. Daemon Tools or similar. These 'security' issues seem to be causing an awful lot of problems for legit users it makes me wonder sometimes if Firaxis aren't shooting themselves in the foot by making it too hard for a lot of ordinary law abiding people. :(

Anyway, it's a bit of a long shot but worth mentioning, you never know! Sorry I'm not more of a techie so can't really advise if the problem does turn out to be a hardware or driver issue.

He says he has a legal copy... but what about you Commander Bello, how do you know this? :D
Because I am reading the bug sections in our German Forums as well. Although I am not very much satisfied with Firaxis products, I am not into pirating.

If I am going to use software, I either have paid for it or it is freeware.

I had this problem after installing a no-cd crack. Note: a no-cd crack isn't anything illegal.
Ripristinating the civilization4.exe worked, later on I found a properly working no-cd crack.
