1.61 pach not installing on my d2d version

Have a direct to drive (d2d) no cd version of the game..I cant patch it......I download the ptach but each time the installer wizzard tells me 'no version of civ 4 found on your computer'

tried downloading the ptach not in game -same result.


is its somthing to do with it not reading the d2 civ4.exe file???

It's a build in security against people who download the game from the internet.
Put the original CIV4.exe back and then patch, if you really want to play without a CD you can then install a no-cd crack.

bullsh*t, actually you need to download a different patch from the direct2drive website. D2D games have own patches.

The whole point is i PAID for an online copy I don't have the cd version civ4exe file. The direct2drive special patch is a crock of s**t and does not work.

I need to do what you say but can't as i do not have a CD cive4.EXE file I need to get someone to email a copy of thier exe file to me so i can do just what you propose.....im not buying the game again.

You would need to contact D2D support about the patch problem.

Using the CD version of the exe would not allow you to use the regular retail v1.61 patch.
