You try to replicate one of your computer Civ IV games on the board game or vice versa - down to the very last worker.

EDIT: And 3078: When faced with a question on Levees in Geography, you are tempted to write: "And they add +1 Production to river tiles!"

In history class, you write an essay about how Mansa Musa led to the Apollo Project. You had to make it indirect or your teacher wouldn't believe you.

You buy your kids civ for their birthday, only to get caught up in a game at work and never show up at their party to give it to them.

You wonder why you didn't get to vote on the new pope when there are Christian churches in your country.

You worry that the Pope will order your hometown to be given to another country. To prevent it, you play lots of music.

You wonder how the US can be so strong in techs, but still be culture pressuring the rest of the world. You suspect they're playing on Chieftain.

People talk about bankers causing the recession, and you confidently assert, "That's impossible. Banks always improve the economy."

You're disappointed that you never find a Landsnect or a Rathaus at Burger King.

You recognize that the sound of the crowd in the 'Just for Men' commercial is the same sound that is played when you are in anarchy
You finally realize that the only logical way for the US to join WWII is that Hawaii was the US's vassal, and the US declared war on Japan, who's defensive pact with Germany triggered Germany to declare war on America
