    472. You get hungry while playing, and stay hungry, because you'd rather play another turn than run to the kitchen and make food.

    473. Google earth has just sent you a bill for using up 500+ hours of satellite time trying to find that dang fortress on the coast of Africa.

    474. You manage to squeeze in 1 turn between showering and dressing, and another between dressing and running for the car.

There used to be a tech slider.

474b. And you get pissed that last night's snowfall is going to cost you 10 turns of playtime while you shovel out your car.

I know. Thing is, overflow existed at least as early as Civ IV (and I believe as early as I or II), so reducing the tech rate may not increase the time to the immediate next tech, but it will increase the time until all later techs because you still do miss out on the science.

In Civ III, I would reduce the tech slider and up the gold slider to maximize gold for that one turn. I think I did the same in II, but I haven't played II in years. If you knew the slider existed, then why the 'I don't get it?' It was clear what it referenced, and even if your practices were not the same as mine, you could have worked it out. Or were you just hoping I'd explain it, so then you could explain about the overflow?

Overflow first showed up in Civ IV. Playing to maximize yields in Civ III was considerably more intense than now. (There was no production overflow, either. Think about the possibilities. :cringe:)

I expected things to be about Civ VI, and even when I figured that you might've been talking about the slider I figured "but the overflow mechanism would mean that reducing the slider would still slow down your tech speed even though it wouldn't be immediately visible", so I figured I'd ask for clarification.

As for why I thought overflow was older, I have a vague memory of my brother talking about discovering 2 Future Techs per turn in Civilization II.

    475. You realize that the name "Water Park" can be divisive and triggering.

    476. You are far too clever to use Amber Liu and Seondeok in the same sentence.

    477. You believe that there can be numerous people with the same name and the same position with the same appearance; the only difference being is that they serve different civs.
477a. You believe that a single city-state is served by several people named Amani, all of whom are diplomats who share the same appearance. You wonder how the civil servants know which Amani the Diplomat serves which civ.
477b. You are convinced that cloning vats exist.

    480. You doubt that the last expansion will be released before reaching 1000 clues you played too much Civ VI.
480a. You start bracketing your clues into sub-clues to slow down the counting.

    481. You think the Tech Web in Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth, Rising Tide should be designed exactly like Sid Meier's Civilization VI: Rise & Fall, even though these games follow two different themes, two different concepts.

    482. You cower away whenever you see a Mongolian trade delegation. Accepting the gift means that the Mongols can spy on you and attack you later. Declining the gift means that the Mongols would attack you sooner. Ignoring them would lead to the Mongols attacking you anyways.

    483. You insist that Civ VI be released for the Nintendo Switch, after seeing Civ VI being available for the iPad and because you began envying all those who have the Nintendo Switch (and sometimes, you want to play Civ VI on the road).
