1000 ways you know you've played Civ2 too much when...

4727) you think that under fundementalistic rule, no one is ever unhappy

4728) You think people in a democracy get unhappy when their soldiers are away from home even during peacetime

4729) You think that there is no corruption under a democratic rule

4730: You try to do college homework for a while, and immediately suffer severe withdrawal symptoms.

4731: You play civ2 on college campus when you should be listening to the long, boring lectures.

4732: Your hearing aid batteries start to run out, and you immediately start searching fratically for more batteries, because you HAVE to listen to the sound effects for greatest stimulation.

4736: You start reading civ2 literature while at family gatherings.

4737: You have started to call all your manuels and printoffs for civ2 "literature".

4738: You hope that your reason isn't already taken
4739:You wonder why this is only at the 4739th reason
4740:You tried to read the entire thread
4741:You think that nukes are perfectly safe if you've got engineers handy to clean up pollution.

4744) Re #4740 - Never mind try! You have read the entire thread!

4745)...several times!

4746) You quickly remember that the reason why sometimes may have "tried" to read the entire thread, but did not succeed, is probably because they were playing too much civ anyways.

4747) Re: #4743 - This brings you to the question of today - how come there's more than 7 civs now?

4748) But this just confirms what the Matrix said! The machines are controlling you and placing you in a world that isn't real!

4749) You are thankful that this means your computer is real, and you figure that reality is inside the screen anyways...

4750) ...which gives you more excuse to ignore the world and embrace the real world of Civ II!

4751) The last several reasons make sense to you.

Is there? Huntington's list was, IIRC, Western, Orthodox, Islamic, Latin American, Confusian, African, South Asian - that's seven.

4752) You took the trouble to point out the above.

4753:You think that Communism and captialization(as in, making something captialist, not as in capitalizing words) are perfectly compatable
4754:You're making good progress in reading all of this topic
4755:You don't even notice that some reasons have been repeated
4756:You wonder why all the 3rd world nations haven't declared war on the US yet
4757:You wonder how the US has corruption when it's a democracy...
4758:...then figure that the government was changed without you knowing

4759) You are proud of the fact that you have stimulated philosophical discussions regarding the world and how it relates to the real world of Civ II.

@Jadelicia
You're a Queen now, huh? I like Queens... groucho :D :mischief: :joke:

4760: You note that you have failed your history classes miserably, even though you have learned all of history just by playing civ2.

4761: You seduce your history teacher--with a civ2 disk.

4762: Your history teacher is a civ2 addict, and she/he is about to flunk you when you threaten to break a civ2 disk right in front of them, knowing that they always fall for that and give you an "A+" instead.

@ Plutonian: Thanks. I thought since there was a prince and a king, there ought to be a queen!

4763) You wonder how many times teachers have been addicted to civ II by their students on this forum and bribed into passing students...

4764) ...because there are a lot of reasons that deal with such scenerios.

4765) You wonder how many reasons begin with "You wonder"...

4766) ... and decide that civ II, among its many benefits, also provokes deep thoughts.

In the Empire, although you're a queen, your really the first lady, kinda like the US govt, but the similarity ends there--in the UPPE (United Planets of the Plutonian Empire), the First Lady is also the Vice President, and that is what your official title would be should you become Queen. Kinda like a power-sharing government, but the King (President, in the UPPE) always has the final say in matters, except if the President is absent for some reason, then the VP has the final say (remember when bush had his colonoscopy? it's kinda like that).

@TLC
:dubious:

On with the thread...

4768: You start posting clues again.* :mischief:

4769: You wonder what "flirting" is, since its not mentioned in civ2.

4770: You draw out your battle plans against the Vikings on a sheet of paper, and wonder why you've just failed your psychology class.

Re 4767

4771: you start a love story thanks to Civ2.

4772: and it's not because you're in love with your computer!

4773: You market(ed) civ2 chocolates.

4774: You market(ed) civ2 candies.

4775: You bake(d) civ2 cakes for birthdays.

4776: You wonder(ed) why your civ2 kiosk went out of buisness.
