Great News!! Topas was right - there exists a pass to connect Cav's river system with the Great River that empties into the southern lake!!

Look at these screenshots. They are two different angles of the area. Tile B is definitely a hill. The slopes where it meets the river are distinctly different from Mountain River tiles.
