19 New Civilization Revolution Screenshots

2K Games has released 19 new Civilization Revolution screenshots today. You can check them out in our gallery. .

Civilization Revolution is currently under development at Firaxis Games and is scheduled to come out in Spring 2008 for Xbox 360, PS3, and Nintendo DS. For Nintendo Wii, the game will come out in fall 2008.

Pretty interesting...definitely a little too cartoony for my taste. What's with the big feet?

If I had a next-gen console I might check this out. I started playing Civ on a Super Nintendo console so I have seen the game "dumbed down" before. I have to agree that it looks a little bit on the cartoony side, but it looks like all the units have some personality.

I just noticed that Shaka leads the Africans instead of the Zulu. Now that's even less appropriate than Native Americans in BTS .

It's also interesting to see that almost all of the shots seem to be from the classical period, I wonder how much they went beyond medieval times?

There are rifles, cannon, and quite a lot of modern age ones- see the destroyers, modern inf. and tanks.

But Shaka of the Africans?

Is that to go with Bismarck of the Europeans and Qin of the Asians?

They are releasing this for next-gen gaming consoles, yes? So why aren't they taking advantage of the enormous graphics processing capabilities of the PS3?

Because they are releasing it on less powerful systems as well. Ports of games always follow the lowest common denominator of the console it will be played on.

I don't quite think they are aiming at that audience, but more at the casual strategy players that own consoles. And in my experience its the console gamers that are more mature than those on pc, especially online pc vs online console gamers.
