was also a request by Thomas SG

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field_Artillery_in_the_American_Civil_War

20 Pounder Parrott Rifle (left pic)

model has 650 vertices, 489 triangles, a 256 skin, 128 gloss for shader version
Shader and non shader version included

cannonier is standard one from Firaxis, no idea which one could fit better
(fits imo better than the rifleman and was also lazy  )

complete unit: 1212 vertices, 1129 triangels, (standard cannon 1190 vertices, 1168 triangles)

    link to standard cannon animation
unit scale for picture, same as cannon

Edit: download updated, two new variations added, one with a
    confederation cannonier
    (made by sepamu92, see
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=4532)
    and a union cannonier
    (made by bernie14, see
    http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=5954).
The last has some minor error because of the transplantation.

    DL: http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=9899

reworked the model to have also the

    M1857 12-Pounder "Napoleon" (right pic)

model has 632 vertices, 477 triangles, a 256 skin, 128 gloss for shader version
Shader and non shader version included

again cannonier is the standard one from Firaxis

complete unit: 1194 vertices, 1117 triangels

    link to standard cannon animation
unit scale for picture, same as cannon

The cannons look good, but as American Civil War cannons I think they look off with the crew wearing Euro/Napoleonic uniforms. Bernie14 has a good Union uniform in his rifleman pack and sepamu92 has a union and confederate uniform for some riflemen he created. Don't know if re-skinning the crew is easy, but these would help give a more authentic feel to these units (as advertised). Or just rename them as Euro cannons and I can pound salt! Either way, nice units.

They look good, but except for the color of the barrel I can't find differences between the two versions?

    thanks :)

    @ hun+celt
perhaps later i will try (no idea if it will work) to rig one of the linked models to the cannonier, but to do this can´t be considered as my favourite job. Reskining humans and my painting skills, believe me you will not se the result

    @ GeoModder
your are almost right, the only difference is the barrel, the cannon, but it´s also reshaped not only recoloured. But also both have the same mount. The second was more a side product, liked the different material (bronze to iron) as reading the wiki reference.

Edit: ok did the changes for the Parrott Rifle, download uploaded, pic in first thread, when somebody wants also the Napoleon with the two civil war cannoniers, simple ask

thanks goes to Bernie14 for his union, sepamu92 for his confed soldier and to hun+celt for linking me to the models
