Well Ian Schultz is still in the WHL, so you can't really judge him by not having played in the NHL. And I've heard good things about Lars Eller. But still, I would have expected a bit more considering that post season.

I think decent. We get a promising future big C, while Halak would have cost us a lot to sign back up, on the strength of a single good year.

Better trade him now when he is at his most valuable than lose him in return for even less proven draft picks at RFA day, or losing him to a UFA signing in a year.

I haven't seen the exact conditions, but I assume what round it is for all depends on if they sign Hamhuis or not.

I think it may be a combination of that and deciding to just blow up the roster after all of their first round defeats.

I think it's just a matter of hours before we hear some Hawks deals. I wonder if Bowman is looking to get draft picks for some of his RFA's.

Anyhow, I think a lot of players are in play.

I don't think this will really help Atlanta all that much.

I like the deal but I'll miss those guys a lot. They all contributed to a great season and will have their names in silver the rest of their life.

Anyhow, the good news is we knocked off nearly $4+ mill from the cap, have four draft picks between 24-60, our guys are going east where they can annoy you eastern folks, Reasoner sounds like our new 3rd line checking center with Bolland moving to 2nd line, our hockey IQ just went up and Morin sounds like he's a pretty solid prospect. The only thing I don't want is Buff getting traded to Vancouver.

I think we'll see some of those picks packaged with Versteeg or Ladd. Kaberle?

Slight amendment to the trade. Thrashers also throw in a guy named Joey Crabb. And because they would be over the 50 signed players limit, they sent two other guys to San Jose and a 7th round pick to San Jose for future considerations.

Colin Fraser to Edmondton for 6th round pick.

My guess is Versteeg and picks next.
