2011 NFL Regular Season Thread

So that was a real exciting finish in SF yesterday, huh? Not so much in Foxboro. Maybe ESPN can finally limit themselves to <50 TPH (Tebows per Hour) now.

You're welcome, America.

Can Mark Sanchez win a game when he's 10 down with only 2 minutes to go?
Nope. Tebow may look ugly in the stats, but as good 'ol Al said: Just win, baby.

Anyway, that was a great game in Frisco. The Aints ain't going to the Super Bowl after all, and I like it that way. I really like Jim Harbaugh and the way he's turned the team around.

Also, sorry to see Tebow time expire. But it was great while it lasted.

My predictions for the next games: Ravens beat Texans, Packers beat Giants. In all the playoff games this season, the home teams have won. I expect it to continue.

Sanchez has had a plethora of 4th quarter comebacks and "clutch" moments

He's also won 4 playoff games. All on the road. Tied for the most ever.

For now he's what we got. Management needs to firmly support him.

Do I wish he was better? Absolutely.

But he's good enough to be our starter (for at least another couple years) and gives us a chance to win.

So Jeff Fisher chooses the Rams and brings Gregg Williams over.
Will they pick OSU WR Justin Blackmon with the #2 pick or trade it for more picks?

I've read many mock drafts that expect the Rams to trade the pick to the Browns (so they can grab another QB), and get Blackmon a few picks later.

Sorry to see that. It wasn't his fault that Manning went down.
But it his fault that the team went into a complete meltdown because he didn't try to get someone eighth-decent, let alone half-decent.

Also his fault that he did'nt seem to try to change to scheme to something that didn't
require Manning to make it work. And in any event, we have the ancient rule of a new
GM pretty much invariably firing the incumbent coach and hiring his own guy.

Jim Caldwell is a terrible HC and should have been fired last year.

John Elway says only that Tim Tebow will be the starting QB for the Broncos going into training camp. No one's starting position is certain yet for next season. Broncos will shop for one maybe two QBs in the draft or free agency.

Which would be the dumbest move ever. Another QB isn't going to make the O-line and WRs play any better.

Agreed. QB is your last problem when everything else is rotten. Otherwise, Carr syndrome will strike.

They'd be going after QB depth for next year, not a potential Tebow replacement. I think Tebow will get a full season as starter, then Elway will decide if he needs to try
to find a long term QB solution in the 2013 draft.

I heard that pro-bowl receiver demanded a trade because he didn't want to play WR when Tebow was QB. I bet he had tons of fun in Saint Louis.

Thomas did pretty well with Tebow as QB.

That's a pretty good comparison, because David Carr also wasn't a very good quarterback.

well, he was good enough to get them a number one pick, it seems.
