He does his damn job. One thing to keep in mind about Goodell is that he's acting in the best interest of the NFL, ergo, the owners. If they're stupid enough to not renew his contract so be it. He can work elsewhere.

From what I've heard, it's not only the fact that they ran the bounty system, but that they also didn't cooperate during the investigation.

Saints going 8-8 next year seems pretty accurate.

So, with both Tebow and Quinn out, who is going to play QB at Denver if Manning gets injured? Is Elway going to put on a helmet and play?

PS: Caleb Hannie?? are you freaking kidding me?

ESPN reporting the Sean Payton is trying to get Parcells to be the interim coach for the Saints. :dubious:

Parcells will not coach if they restart the 5 year clock on the HoF ... and I understand that the HoF will not change their rules on this issue.

I have a hard time shaking the feeling it boiled down to:

    1. Manning wanted to go somewhere that he'd have carte blanche as far as doing
    things his way.

    2. Elway was desperate enough to jettison Tebow to agree to just about anything.

Not that I'm cynical or anything of course...

I guess I must be cynical too then. ;)

Manning is a control freak so point 1 will have been very important to him, and Elway never seemed really happy with Tebow as his QB (for which I most certainly can't blame him)...

You say "control freak" like it was a bad thing! But putting aside how control freakery often correlates with lack of empathy...

Elway wants to win, and he couldn't ditch Tebow while he was winning. "So what!" if Manning has his own way and calls plays on the line? :dunno: Elway believes Manning knows how to win, and will carry the Broncos to more than one Super Bowl. Elway is still a god in Denver, and the fans are going to love his recruit.

Meanwhile Tebow has now become just an S.E.P.
