Is coach Hitchcock done there? (in St. Louis)
Predictions for 2nd round:
Tampa Bay in six
Rangers in six
Ducks in five
Blackhawks in six
New York in six
Montreal in seven (out of team loyalty, not genuine expectations)
Ducks in four
Hawks in six.
Game winning goal at 59:59 to go up three games to none. I don't think I've ever seen more of a backbreaker.
I don't think the Habs got the memo about a backbreaker.
They put down a good thumping...but I have to think that being down 3-1 they are eventually gonna be looking sadly at the one that got away.
Agreed, but that definitely wasn't a broken-backed team on the ice.
What about the broken ankle tho ???
Oh wow, just watched the video. That's awful.
Remind me of the time I was playing street hockey and stepped on the ball. Not broken, but I was in crutches for two weeks after, and limping for another month + after that.
The ongoing world championship tournament in Czech Rep. is quite interesting, betting on the Canadiana to triumph there.
once again Lord Stanley's trophy heads to a US based team. How many years has it been since a Canadian team won the Cup?
Alas I'm sure Shanny's preparing a major Cup assault and a lengthy playoff push by his blue and white troops in next year's playoffs-bwahhahahahha!
Conference final predictions:
Lightning in seven, Ducks in six.
Dang... the Ducks have some monsters on their team .
Who is that huge guy in front of the opposing team's net all the time .
It seems like they have at least one huge guy on every line tasked with 'net presence,' and even their 'smaller skill guys' are all over six feet and two hundred pounds. The Ducks seem to be a bit of an old fashioned team. Not anything fancy, just a constant beating for sixty minutes. If you can stand up to it, good on you, if you can't they win at the end. I don't think any of the three "speed and finesse" teams are going to have the stamina to get by them.
Chicago in seven because I like them a bit more than Anaheim.
New York in seven because I hate them a little less than Tampa right now (but really, I'm rooting for the west)
Anaheim in 7, Tampa in 7.
Where is Mike Babcock heading?
-stays in Detroit
I'm saying he's surely headed to a team where he will become not only the coach but also the (G) manager. Toronto would fit such spot very well due to current lack of a GM and the strange statement they want to hire a coach prior to a GM.
On the other hand he's a winner and wants to win asap, that eliminates T.O. because they're rebuilding. I think he might go to a Western Conference team in the end, or stay in motor city.
We'll see in 2 days.
Detroit being the only team I know that doesn't think "we lost a game, maybe we should fire the coach" is a sensible approach, why would he leave the Red Wings?
Man an epic Game 2 between Ducks and Hawks, best game this playoff by quite a bit.
Thought Anaheim deserved it but Chicagos disallowed goal in 2OT was rofl-worthy
These massive overtime marathons are going to take a toll on the Blackhawks. Not just because they are accumulating too many of them, but because the extra time is more damaging to the speed team than it is to the brute force team.
Separate names with a comma.
