    Yeah it's quite possible legitimate coaches like Rivera wouldn't come to Washington because they refused to be Bruce's puppet and that was enough to get Snyder to fire him

    There's no way Rivera signs on with Allen in the building. I'm surprised that he signed on with Snyder in the building.

    Shouldn’t we be discussing this in the offseason thread now? Anyway Rivera is a better coach than what they’ve had in a long time. Combine with good draft picks and they should be respectable next year. That defensive line would be fun to watch if they draft Chase Young (and plays to his potential).

    Probably should.

    But since we're here, I don't really think Jay Gruden was a bad coach. I don't thing Mike Shanahan was a bad coach. Assistant coaches fleeing Washington have gotten jobs and thrived all over the place. Rivera is good, maybe better than anything they've had or maybe not, but what will set him apart if anything does is that he had the juice to get Allen kicked to the curb.
