2020 US Election (Part One)

Yeah Tulsi as VP would be a great choice. She'd smash Pence and plenty of Republicans already like her better than him

After all, it's not a vote for the actual presidential election. This is the first round, the nomination campaign.

my boi appears to be winning in New Hampshire. Buttigieg's strong showing is troublesome. Warren is actually losing the Klob which is weird. Biden in fifth.

Tulsi maybe a good choice (due to her popularity with republicans). Who would be a good VP pick in a Bernie 2020 race?

I also think Tulsi would be a good choice, the best strategy. But it's unlikely she'll be chosen.

As you say she is liked by some of those who usually vote republican. Their fear of "socialist Bernie" can be allayed in part with a VP that they like, and in part by them guessing that congress will remain under republican or split control. With the democrats doing everything wrong on campaign, that is a good guess.

What Bernie brings to the table is some promise of improvement in one of the big american problems, health care. And what Tulsi would bring was a stop to ill-thought foreign entanglements. Both can be appealing to those who before voter for Trump. On top of that they both oppose the power of monopolies and that is another theme that many conservatives can appreciate.

Yang and the Senator from Colorado, Michael Bennet, dropped out.

Polls:
Sanders 27.6%
Buttigieg 23.2%
Klobuchar 19.7%
Warren 10.3%
Biden 8.3%

Do I have to learn an opinion on Klobuchar now
She'd be a natural pick for VP under Bernie.

It's hard to say this is truly significant as this result is based on vote totals that are less than about 100,000.

Sad about Yang but happy to see Biden getting his ass kicked :)

Biden's sunk like a stone in the national polls. Sanders is first, Warren is forth, Pete fifth, Bloomberg third?, Klob sixth.

She'd be a terrible VP pick for Bernie. Plus I have faith that he'd never pick someone who treated their subordinates the way she has treated her staff.

I feel like Warren is still a possibility for VP and would unite the progressive factions

No, Warren needs a job that's actually important.

I would hope he'd be more pragmatic than that. It'd be good policy to avoid her but potentially bad politicking. I don't think a single Sanders supporter would turn on him no matter who he picked as VP and if he can bring moderates into the fold with a gesture, that's a good thing IMO.

CFPB mark II

I think he should put Nina in there, it would just make the best optics having her lecture the senate when they act like turds. "Look you dumb ass old men. . ."

Amy is giving a pretty nice speech after her third place win in NH.

All you need to know is The Klob is an above average centrist Democrat who knows how to bribe farmers.

Despite her still being my preferred candidate, I think Warren will need have to have some serious conversations with her team about dropping out. However, as I mentioned to Lexicus elsewhere, due to California being early this year, that changes the game. If Warren gets 20% of the California delegates -about 80- that is more than all the delegates in play in Iowa and New Hampshire. I don't see The Klob doing well in California at all, and with the 'Biden is the front-runner' myth being dealt a nasty blow, perhaps the Warren will take enough of their votes to go back into the running; and start taking back votes from Bloomberg once he is out of 'flavor of the month' zone.
I'm grasping at straws though.

To add, it seems Warren tried to thread the needle between the Democratic Establishment and Sanders, in the hopes of siphoning off their supporters. Instead, what happened is what always happened with 'thread the needle' campaigns - people ended up splitting for the Real Deal.

Bribing farmers is a long US tradition. The only question of importance is: Can she beat the Turd?
