2020 US Election (Part One)

due to California being early this year,
Coincidentally, I just mailed off my ballot for Warren
To add, it seems Warren tried to thread the needle between the Democratic Establishment and Sanders, in the hopes of siphoning off their supporters. Instead, what happened is what always happened with 'thread the needle' campaigns - people ended up splitting for the Real Deal.
I agree with this.

Bribing farmers is a long US tradition. The only question of importance is: Can she beat the Turd?
I don't think so. There simply aren't that many farmers to get votes from in swing states. IIRC, she only got about 10% more votes in the last election than the other Democratic senator from Minnesota - Tina Smith- who ran an uninspired campaign that relied on getting enough votes in the Twin Cities, Duluth, and college towns to hold down her losses in Greater Minnesota. The Minnesota branch of the Democratic Party - the Democratic Farmer-Labor Party - has kept its rural support better than the national Democratic Party, but its not looking that strong these days and the farming focus is more kept for nostalgia these days than anything else.
To win in 2020 Democrats need to hold the suburbs they won in 2018 and really turn out the metro/inner suburbs. There aren't enough farmers to make fighting for them a viable issue, especially as you can see in people like FarmBoy who seem to view the very idea that a congresscritter might try and represent an urban district as the very height of elitism and snobbery.

Warren was already slipping but it seemed to accelerate when she apparently conspired with CNN to smear Bernie as a sexist for allegedly claiming a woman couldn't get elected in 2016

I thought if that conversation actually did take place Bernie was lamenting what he considered an unfortunate reality, not making a statement about women being unqualified

I'm largely indifferent to Klobuchar, I heard she has a nasty temper but look who she'd be up against. She's probably the most immune to attacks from Trump. I just want to know what she thinks about foreign policy and the drug war. I guess I can google that.

But there are lots of women who want a strong woman in charge. She could add Bernie as her VP. :D

Bernie isn't signing on as any VP candidate. Megalomaniacs don't take second billing.

How tf is it possible to think Bernie Sanders is a megalomaniac

10% of NH republican voters voted for Weld in the face of no chance to win. They were making a statement. Trump lost in NH by only 3000 votes; This promises a weaker Turd showing in 2020.

Because I think that almost anyone who runs for president most likely is. So I start from a pretty good chance and then move him up because of the way he makes absurd claims about what he would accomplish with such absolute conviction that I think he actually believes them.

Turnout looks to be about 1/3rd of 2016, natural when an incumbent is running and New Hampshire is kind of a rebellious state anyway. I think the last threat to an incumbent Republican in NH was 1992 when Pat Buchanan was forecasted to be closing in on finishing first. He didn’t, and he fizzled out later.

He's a Clinton fan?

On the "how is it possible theme", noticed this on the american news:

“The incorrect math on the Caucus Math Worksheets must not be changed to ensure the integrity of the process,” wrote the party lawyer, Shayla McCormally, according to an email sent by Troy Price, the chairman of the party, to its central committee members. The lawyer said correcting the math would introduce “personal opinion” into the official record of results.

:crazyeye:

I don't think Bernie wants to be potus for himself. It is also why he is actually popular and people don't have to "hold their nose" to vote for him :)

With Biden so low is it likely that Bernie will win all four first states?
Projections do show him winning the nomination anyway. Maybe one more appearance by Hellary will help him seal the deal faster ;)
