22 year old guy wanting to have sex with 16 year old girl

Hi. Long time reader, first time poster.

I found this in a fitness forum.

A guy, 22, wants to have sex with a girl who's 16. I'm the dad of a 1 year old daughter. I am worried about her enough as it is, but I cant think of how much I'd worry about this if this was my daughter. I'm angry about this guy doing this, am I right to be angry? What would you do if your daughter was in this situation?

Voted not sure, but I'de say no... Assuming 16 is the age of consent where you live there's nothing wrong with it. If the age of consent is hiher though yeah you've got a problem...

Divide your age by 2. Then add 7. That is the youngest age you should consider dating.

yes you have a right to be angry but if its legal in that country then you have no legal right to do anything!

You're allowed to have sex with girls whose ages are at least half your age plus seven.

You're right to be angry, though. When your daughter comes of age (18, or whatever it is in your country), then you start not having that right. (You presumably have to right to limit who she has relationships with before then)

On a side note, I'd want to have sex with a 16-year old girl.

Not in America, as no jurisdiction I'm aware of recognizes that a child that young can consent. On the other hand, such a relationship is not a crime.

Most states have a provision in their statutory rape law that says that, as long as it's consensual, and the two parties are within four years of each other, it's not illegal.

Well I sure want to screw a 16 year old but then I'm 18 so its a bit more reasonable even though quite illegal for me given my state is like a smaller version texas 17 no exceptions and even then its if the parents want to come after you.

But if that 16 year old were say my daughter one day I would shoot this guy.
