2k @ E3

Hopefully we'll get at least a hint of a civ on the 11th of June.
Do you guys think we'll know all the civs by the end of the week?

I'm thinking it's likely. We're about a month out and that's when we learned it last year. Plus, it's hard to keep things a secret forever.

I think so too. If we're lucky, one will be revealed at E3, but I still anticipate the following scenario:
- hints on Tuesday
- reveal in gaming magazines on Friday

We found out the final two civs before today ended. We already knew them technically as of a few days ago, but they were confirmed earlier today.

And then it turns out the screenshots were a massive scam and the two final civs aren't Venice and Shoshonen. In reality it was Kate posting fake screenshots, under a new username, made by Firaxis to lead us astray.

If Venice turns out to not be in the game, I would absolutely love that on so many levels, not least of which is the amount of effort and set up it would have taken to fake it all the way from the doctoring of city states (having used set patterns from the start) all the way to picking colours off the Wikivenetian Flag for a new civ's colours and subtly showing us before rounding it off with a tactical "leak" full with professional level graphics which clearly had some time and love put into them. I would be amazingly impressed and delighted that Venice was actually not in the game. I might even eat the specially marinated hat that I'm preparing for Percee if that were the case.

Wouldn't that just be something eh. If this did actually happen to be the case, then the good folk at Firaxis/2k must be wetting themselves with laughter and excitement right now. I would be a fan of this development too I must say. Although I have rather come to like the way the "last two civs" have been done.

If this were fake, I would demand that Firaxis include free DLC. Clearly, they have enough free time on their hands to craft art for a fake civ, they might as well make a real one while they're at it.

does anyone know when they're doing there livestream or whatever it is they're doing at e3? all I know is that they don't have a booth this year.

The details are on the Facebook link in the OP.

Although, I would recommend watching the Civ Facebook page. The Livestream will probably cover a wide range of 2K products. Kate said to watch the Civ Facebook page. So if they do anything exclusive to Civ, they will probably give people a heads up by that route.

Not everyone has Facebook ;)
"We will be livestreaming June 11th to the 13th on
. Stream starts each day from 3pm to 6pm EDT"

True. I don't have it. I had to use my wife's login to grab the link in the first place. But fortunately, you don't need to be logged in to view the Civ Facebook page.

The main art assets are the leader screens are they not. There's a big difference between some icons and a whole animated leader screen.

So how does this work fellas?

Stick around the forums the next few days and random info will pop up here and there?

I'm loitering in the forums anyway.

I also have the Civ Facebook in another tab. I reload the page every so often between 1:30 and 3:30 EDT looking for the tipoff to a hint or an indication that they will be showig something on the livestream related to civ.

I've tried the facebook link a few times since this thread came out and I don't see E3 listed in my list of events. I'm keeping an eye on the :twitch: link though ;).
