When you quit Civ V, the 2K Launcher process does not terminate. Steam shows you continuing to play Civ V even after the PC has been put to sleep.
(I cracked open Civ V after almost a decade on Thursday. Steam profile says I've played 68hrs of Civ V in two weeks!)
WORKAROUND: Bypass 2K Launcher with command line. (Search forums/discussions how to do this).
FYI: I have a AMD Ryzen rig. IDK if that helps.
