Is there going to be a 30-day patch for Gathering Storm? I couldn't find any info so far. Anybody familiar with their plan?

There has been no official word on it, but it has been their practice in the past and is widely expected at some point this month, but not necessarily by the 16th (the 30th day). It appears from the SteamDB files that they are QA testing a patch (but not DLC or another expansion) for PC, Mac, and Linux.

Hopefully. They need to:

- nerf pillaging
- fix bugs
- tune climate change properly, and give it more in-land impact
- balance the civs better, e.g buff England and Canada
- nerf Indie promotion for rock bands
- Speed up World Congress turn timer, and make the choices more meaningful.
- Slow down culture victory

etc

Do they usually do a lot of balance changes in the 30 day patch or is it mainly bug fixes? I can't remember. My assumption is that it's mostly late breaking bugs but that might be inaccurate

If I recall correctly, RnF's 30 day patch was more fixes and the Spring patch was more balance.

They basically will go after anything super egregious or what they think is super egregious. For example, they fixed an exploit where you could sell units for more money than it cost to build them under certain conditions after launch; they also removed aura stacking for IZ and EC.
R&F's first patch saw magnus' chop bonus cut from 100% to 50%. Etc.

The Mali-Ngazargamu "free units" thing is probably going to get adjusted.

Will they rebalance civs/units? Ehhhhh.

Would be good to adjust SOME major things within this Patch. Pace and AI improving trading mainly... But I take what I can get...

I wish they'd rather go back on their decision to prevent "tile raiding" a captured city, before giving it back. They found a problem where there wasn't one, 'fixed' it, and then went on and created this pillaging nonsense. In other words, they chained to the wall a colibri which, perhaps, was zooming around their china shop a tad too enthusiastically, ignoring how cute it was, and let in a massive rhinoceros, who finds it difficult to fit in on the floor among other elephants present there since much earlier.

I predict the patch will NOT be a thirty-day patch. Because that falls on a Saturday, and I don't recall a Civ VI patch ever dropping on a Saturday. :p

A Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, probably in the evening Firaxis time, in the next few weeks is most likely.

They also need to nerf pop star promotion. I get like 8k gold per show

Considering how late halyu comes, I wouldn’t consider it OP, since it’s mostly there to help you finish up games you’ve probably already won.

The only problem with halyu is exploiting Indie. But that's more about how indie works than anything. Even religious rock - which is hilarious- isn't that good.
