3D Software

Our tutorials on creating leaderheads and units were all written several years ago. Does anyone know of any new developments in 3D modelling software which have appeared since then? Does anyone have any experience with Hexagon (marketed by DAZ) which supposedly simplifies the making of props?

Get Bryce. It is free currently (i mean the horribly unstable bryce 7 PLE of course) and somewhat easy to get into.

Thanks Kyriakos. You can't beat free. I've gone ahead and downloaded it. I also obtained a copy of DAZ Studio 4 which is free at the moment. It seems DAZ has a dizzying array of products.

I think for Leaderheads and human units Poser is the easiest.

Some people use Blender to make props for Poser units.

Poser vs Bryce (or Poser vs DAZ Studio) has been discussed several times... As I always say, DS has a lot in common with Poser but it is missing a lot of interesting features (you have to pay for them). And yes it works better for livingly human characters
