Oh, if anyone wants any help with modding, please hit me up via PM or on Steam. I'm not an expert modder by any means, but I've been modding for a few months under the tutelage of the great and mighty Enginseer, so I could share a thing or two I've learned.

As I said in that post: https://forums.civfanatics.com/thre...-3rd-and-4th-unique-components.614665/page-15 I made first version of polish 3th and 4th component for the vox populi using ideas from previous thread:
Spoiler Poland Completed :
UM - Voi (replaces Spearman) : 12 CP instead of 10 ; has the "Mobility" and the "Quick learner" promotions.
=> Inspired by this mod by More Civilizations
=> That aside, the peace theme used in the mod

UB -
Barbakan (replaces Armory) :c5war::c5strength::c5culture: : requires a Wall in the city to be constructed ; +5 CP to city ; units in the city heals 10 HP per turn whether or not they take an action ; units trained in the city gains the "Medic I" promotion ; +2 supply cap instead of +1 ; +2 :c5culture:.
=> Inspired by this mod from mikeburnfire
The only change I made is that I gave "discipline" promotion instead of "quick learner" to Voi. I think it fits better because it was part of "Druzhina" which consisted of couple of tousands of man and his role was also protecting archers with his shield. Moreover I changed name to "Barbican" for consistency. "Barbakan" was polish spelling.

I made my own version of Voi's flag. Tell me if you like it or not. I think I will work on it more later.

I made also all civilopedia entries.

Rest of pictures and animations are borrowed. What I mean as borrowed is that we need to ask @Pouakai and @janboruta for a permission to use Voi's animation, texture and picture and @mikeburnfire for Barbican's picture. If some of them won't agree you need to delete their work and substitute it with other one.

After that someone need to check this and tell me what I wrote wrong (if there's something that won't work) for future experience. This was my first sql coding. Then I will make my plans what civ do next (probably The Iroquois).

What do you think of that?

And another question: what are files *.gr2 and *gloss.dds for?

Awesome, thanks! I'm in the middle of a game right now, but I'll try out your Poland once I'm done and give feedback. In the meantime, I'll add you to the list of volunteers.

I propose we change America back to trailblazer and give them the UW white house
Allows early ideology replaces Hermitage available at gunpowder.

Awesome. I will start Iroquois then when I have free time and wait for some bug reports and suggestion.

Did you test it out yourself and verify that it worked? The files you sent me aren't a working mod, so I'd need to put it in a mod to test it.

@Jarula Do you want to keep ratio 1 UU for 1 UB/UI? Because with Latifundium and Field of Mars we will have 1UU, 2UB and 1UI and in consequence we will lose ratio.

Well you see campus maritus is basically similar to a UU it's a military extraordinaire. Rome doesn't need a UU but with 1UU, 1UW, 1UI, 1 UB it is a comprimise for a civ that was largely remembered for infrastructure and what it left behind which italians use to this day.

This is interesting, but don't you think it might contribute to yield inflation? This modmod should nerf some of the baseline values to compensate somewhat.

That being said, I might be able to help on this project after this week. I've always wanted to take a crack at mod development. Most of my coding has been limited to program and app dev.

As per @Gazebo's post in the other thread. Perhaps it would be prudent to copy this discussion to the mods repository sub, add a link to Hinin's original thread, and delete this one.

Also, I disagree with @Jarula. having a military-focused UB is not the same as a UU... By that reasoning, the existing Danish runestone and Zulu Ikanda are already breaking this rule by having 2 UUs. If the resources exist to add the Latifundium I think the Campus Martius should be dropped; too many unique replacements to the heroic epic have been suggested already. I see no reason not to simply re-implement the ballista, with some small buffs to bring it into VP balance.

@Blue Ghost This version was a false start. Sorry for that. Today I learned how to use modbuddy, ran the package and it turned out to be nothing more than piece of garbage. Nothing worked. So I used modbuddy to create modpack, fixed almost all bugs and made playable version. Enjoy! :) Tested it with latest VP. Vois use standard animation until I found bug. Please focus on balance. I don't wanna create too op civ.

Aight so how about for rome a great diplomat replacement Praetor creates a UI inside roman territory
OR make Latisfundia a UI created by Patrician a Roman replacement for great merchant.

Campus Marzo should stay or instead my idea of a UB to replace shrine called Curia that grants faith and culture +5 faith and culture whenever a building is created in city. That would be THE MOST ROMAN UB because the Curia exist to this day and were fundamental in the establishment of the Roman Catholic church one of the most impactful institutions of rome that exists to this day.

Also for balance if we do this WE NEED TO GIVE VENICE A KIND OF OP BUILDING AND UNIT to even it out.

My proposal 1 maintainance
Curia
+1 culture
+2 faith
whenever a building is constructed or unit +5 faith +5 Culture scaled with era.

When Rome goes bankrupt should taper off. Fitting history.

Similarly I have a proposal for Germany
Something based on granting... you guessed it Culture

Guildhouse
Grants +5% culture
and +5% great person per city state ally
replaces gardens

For UU for rome Harpago can capture enemy ships and can preform like Zulu Impi first strike but weakened combat strength.

The best way to compensate it is to make the uniques a little bit more expensive in terms of production compared to the feature they replace.

For the new modders here, I added a few links to resources I found helpful when I started out.

Adding new UUs and UBs to every civ is definitely going to shift the balance. That's really not avoidable when you're buffing every civ. But hopefully if every civ is buffed equally, they'll still be balanced in comparison to one another.
The 3UC mod for vanilla Civ also gave a generic buff to civs that didn't get any new unique units. Perhaps we could do that here as well, for any modded civs and civs that we haven't gotten around to making yet. What would be a good generic buff to give?

I'll ask a mod to move this thread.

Nice! Yeah, definitely use Modbuddy to make your mods. It makes things so much easier. I'll try this out, but I probably won't be able to do full balance testing. Looks balanced at first glance though.

I'll go ahead and claim the first five civs in the list. Here are my proposals for them, subject to change during development. Suggestions and feedback welcome.

Spoiler America :

Trailblazer (Scout)
12 :c5strength: CS (up from 10)
No penalty vs. barbarians
Can found cities
Founded cities start with 2 :c5citizen: population, a Monument and a Shrine

Homestead (UI)
Unlocks at Civil Service
+2 :c5citizen: Food, +2 :c5gold: Gold, +2 :c5production: Production
May be built on flat plains and grassland tiles
+1 :c5gold: Gold and :c5culture: Culture for each adjacent Village, Town, and Pasture
+2 :c5gold: Gold at Economics, +2 :c5production: Production at Industrialization, +2 :c5culture: Culture at Ecology

Kept the Trailblazer idea for America, modified to be a bit less broken. I like the idea of an American UI, but it feels a little bland right now. Any ideas on how to make it more unique?

Spoiler Arabia :

Ghazi (Swordsman)
17 :c5strength: CS (up from 15)
Double movement and +33% combat strength in deserts
May be purchased with :c5faith: Faith

Madrasah (University)
+4 :c5faith: Faith
+25% :c5greatperson: Great Person generation

I don't think a unique trade unit can actually work, and Arabia should have a military unit. I'm not really satisfied with the Ghazi. Ghazi were primarily raiders, which doesn't really fit with Arabia's defensive playstyle. Any other suggestions for a good Arabian military UU?
Don't want too many unique national wonders, since they're hard to balance. Going to make some of the proposed national wonders into regular buildings.

Spoiler Assyria :

Iron Chariot (Skirmisher)
Unlocked at Iron Working
12 :c5strength: CS (up from 10)
Armor Plating, Can pillage without cost

Walls of Sargon (Walls)
+15 :c5strength: Defense, +75 HP
+1 :c5culture: Culture
1 Writer specialist slot

Spoiler Austria :

Landwehr (Fusilier)
38 :c5strength: CS (up from 35)
Imperial Vigilance (+25% CS in friendly territory)
Sentry (+1 sight)

Standschützen (Arsenal)
700 :c5production: Production cost down from 900)
+25 :c5strength: city defense, +200 HP (up from 20/150)
-20% cost for buying military units
+2 :c5gold: Gold and +1 :c5culture: Culture for each allied CS
+10% supply cap from population

Both of the proposed Austrian UCs are fine in a vacuum, but it would be nice if Austria could have something for the early game. I'm not at all familiar with Austrian history though. Any ideas?

Spoiler Aztecs :

Eagle (Swordsman)
16 :c5strength: CS (up from 15)
Does not require Iron
Sentry (+1 sight)
50% chance of spawning a Worker when killing a unit

Huey Teocalli (Grand Temple)
+1 :c5production: Production and :c5culture: Culture from Forest and Jungle empire-wide
When a Golden Age starts, receive a permanent +2 :c5faith: Faith, :c5culture: Culture and :tourism: Tourism in the city
