VP Congress: Session 4, Proposal 16

Current Faith of the Masses (FotM) Reformation Belief:
May build Amphitheaters, Opera Houses, Museums , Broadcast Towers, and Stadiums with :c5faith:Faith.
These building produce +2 :c5culture:Culture each.
Holy City owner gains +1 :c5happy: Happiness for every two Cities following this Religion.

Problem:
Stadium really shouldn't be part of this belief.
  • It's not part of the culture building line, it's part of the happiness line with Arena/Circus/Zoo
  • Stadiums give extremely large on construction bonuses (2500 :c5goldenage: and 20:c5influence: with all city-states); being able to instantly build these everywhere immediately on unlock is too much burst.
Solution:
Just remove the Stadium from this belief. No other changes

Also, FotM boosts 5 buildings, while the science reformation belief (can't remember the name) only boosts 3.

That belief is so bad though. Does anyone ever take it?
I took it when I made Library faith-purchaseable (and buffed) by it. It seems to be great for getting science leads.

Surprised why Stadium is even here.

Can just make Divine Teaching add Library and Faith of the Masses remove stadium, so then we have 2 reformation beliefs that buffs 4 buildings.

Maya is a prime candidate for it. That civ has plenty of science, but no bonus gold or production to build the things they keep unlocking. So, they can use their high faith output to do it with beliefs like Divine Teachings (which aligns with their science focus).

Is FOTM considered OP?

I can respect the notion that stadium is not the most thematic, but unless FOTM is considered OP (and I personally don't think it is), we should at least compensate it or give it another building.

I think I just simply agree. Not fun to play against, and not fun to have to miss out by not playing it.
