:)

Common
1. What is the top reason a teen should stay in school?

To avoid dead-end jobs...but mainly for me it was to stay amongst people of my age-group and similar intelligence. Plus enough old ladies said to me "they are the best days of your life".

2. What is the most important thing in a good relationship?

Enjoying the company of your partner/friend/whatever.

3. What's the right age to start dating?

Whenever.

4. What's the best reason to abstain from sex?

Since STDs and babies can be prevented by condoms etc...the best reason is probably to avoid sex when either party involved isn't ready for it...for girls especially the first time can be traumatic.

5. What's the most important quality in a parent teen relationship?

Friendship...my parents are the best friends I have.

6. What's the most important thing your parents taught you?

To treat others in the same way you want to be treated yourself.

7. Name a sexually transmitted disease?

(just the one Pellaken!)

Herpes

8. What's a common symptom of an STD?

It can vary alot between diseases...but itchiness down below is a common sign of trouble below the deck.

9. At what grade should schools teach sex education (if allowed)?

Grade? Well I was taught when I was at primary school...indeed at age 11 I was interviewed and put on television in the sex education video "living and growing".

The embarrassing thing is my brother saw that video years later when it was their turn!!!

Furthermore in later years (when I was 17) I saw a sex education video with my grandmother (she is a doctor involved in the field of "family planning") advising a couple and showing them how to put a condom on a huge <ahem> model penis...

I said out loud "She is my grandmother" the female teacher (apparently now suspended for sleeping with a pupil!) told me to shut-up thinking I was referring to her (my grandmothers) age!

You too may have seen me on video ;)

10. Who is the most famous teen role model today?

Today...hmm "role model"...hmm...probably Bwitteny Spears...for me I didn't have peers to follow...they follow me or nothing happens at all!

11. What is the first word you ever said?

Not sure "dada" is a word...

12. What should the legal drinking age be?

16

When it gets dark -unless accompanied by a responsible adult.

15. What time should curfew be for a 15 year old?

At the complete disgression of parents but that parents bear responsiblity for the actions of their children. Curfew only if parents can't take responsibilty for kids should be when it gets dark.

16. What time should curfew be for a 17 year old?

Whenever...but that 17 year olds should be tried as adults should they commit crimes.

17. At what age should parents start talking to their kids about sex?

When they start taking an interest in "that sort of thing".

18. What's the most important subject taught in school?

English.

[applies to UK] The Church of England.

24. Name a favorite pastime of teens

Dossing.

25. How could the community better serve teens?

More compulsory school activities in the vacations...e.g people from the same year being taken on trips walking/skiing/etc holidays in the country. It gives a holiday to poorer kids that may not get one and also builds group identity aswell as it keeping youths fit and mking them then want to be active.

Certaintly at primary school we had two trips of this sort...paid for by our parents however. Both to the Highlands of Scotland (I lived in Aberdeen) whee we did orienteering, wide games, cycling etc and trips to a wide range of places...it was terrific!

In Cults Academy during the exams of the higher years for "Standard Grade" (Scottish GCSEs...more subjects, less depth and 1 year before GCSE) and "Highers" (Scottish A-levels...1 year after Standard Grade unlike 2 years for A-level) saw the lower years taken on trips to a wide range of locations pretty cheaply...

I chose: 1st year = trip to Spain -Barcelona!
2nd year = trip to Holland -mainly around Valkenburg
3rd year = trip to London...we got to see ALL the
best things and as we booked as a group
we never had to wait, it was brilliant.

26. What's the main reason teens get in trouble today?

Either by fault in nature or nuture they are selfish, little bastards...that applies to the sort of teen that fires cars, hurts animals, steals or other such anti-social behaviour.

For the rest ignorance or just accident get them into trouble or taking things way out of proportion (main reason for teen suicide I think.)

27. Name a positive activity that helps keep teens out of trouble?

Sport...

"sport, sport masculine sport, prepares a young man for society!"

28. Name a good reason for teens to get a job or do volunteer work?

It can be alot of fun!

I did voluntary work with the Calderdale Volunteers in the countryside, building bridges, paths, fences and clearing braken! Met alot of retired or unemployed people and learnt alot from them on a wide range of things. I wll probably join up again, especially when I am training to get fit enough for the police (if I fail to get into some other areas I am "applying for".)

29. Why are self esteem and self respect important for teens to have?

Generally if I feel good it is because I can go out into the world and know/think that people take me seriously...if I can't recognise the good things about me then it is very unlikely that anyone else will. If a teen can feel good about themselves then they are likely to be motivated, happy and confident to actually go out and achieve things.

I have never achieved anything when I have felt bad about myself.

30. Name a hardship teenage parents have to face

Responsibility.

31. Where are teens likely to learn their values?

From their parents early in life...and to a large degree continuously from how their parents (or whever fills that role) act.

Frustration.

33. Who do you turn to when you have a problem?

Announcing that they are forming a lasting bond to be true to each other which they will never break -within reason. It should provide a platform of trust and friendship that can support a family. I have nothing but complete disrespect for anyone who cheats on a spouse...end the marriage and then do your thing, but just to cheat and leave, pathetic.

36. What's the favorite weekend activity of teens today?

Going out with mates.

37. What's your favorite anti-drug?

Showering.

38. What's your favorite junk food?

Pizza.

41. What's most difficult thing about being a teen?

Making the right choices about your future...they start to affect so much of your live...from chosing your A-level subjects to chosing what activities you put your energies into...it makes a big difference.

Well I am 21 now...and in a hell of a good position to know what I'd do if I was a teen again!

41 questions about teens and parents...

Common

1. What is the top reason a teen should stay in school?

So they can learn the "basics" and not annoy people like me with their sloppy grammer. ;)

2. What is the most important thing in a good relationship?

I'd say trust, but I think commitment is still very important. Sometimes it's too easy to walk away from a relationship.

3. What's the right age to start dating?

It's not easy to say. Sixteen years of age is a plausible start, and from then on, I'd say it's when the kid feels they're ready.

4. What's the best reason to abstain from sex?

That's hard to say. Because we all know there are two very big physical reasons- pregnancy and STDs. But more than that, even if you take all precautions, there still is something that no condom, birth control pill or spermacide can prevent- emotional distress. No matter how much we might try to reduce intercourse into a mere physical act, it still is deeply emotional. If you gave a part of yourself to someone, it isn't easy for you to see them use you and walk away.

5. What's the most important quality in a parent teen relationship?

I might say trust here, but I'm not entirely sure. I think maybe it's commitment again.

Back in the day, it was unnecessary. Other people would hook you up with a nice girl and the two of you got married without having to worry about your appearance, whether or not a booger wasx hanging out your nose, or how bad your acne made you look. No terror, no lonlieness, no agonizing over why he didn't call.

I wanna see ur answers....this could be interesting

Be as sarcastic or serious as you want
All of my answers were as deadly serious as a heart attack.

Common
1. What is the top reason a teen should stay in school?

To be properly and fully educated in order to survie and succeed in the increasingly competitive world that we live in, for better or for worse. It is best to keep all your options open for as long as possible. Rash and hasty decisions on such matters now may very likely be a source of regret in years to come.

2. What is the most important thing in a good relationship?

Trust, and the existence of some mutual bond and attraction to begin with. It is also important to have patience, and to be virtuous and display piety, chivalry and obedience.

3. What's the right age to start dating?

Preferrably never, but if it unavoidable it should be done in the early teenage years. I'm not that evil that I would begrudge children that experience simply because I never engaged in such activity, and never will.

4. What's the best reason to abstain from sex?

To stay away from the sordid, petty and disgusting process of physical intimacy, and to scorn the foolish expectations that call this idiocy a compulsary part of life. It also allows you to put more energy and attention into other pursuits, that are far more rewarding than making the beast with two backs for a couple of minutes.

5. What's the most important quality in a parent teen relationship?

Fear and due respect. Love has a role to play, as does obedience, and doing that which is right. Setting correct examples.

6. What's the most important thing your parents taught you?

Hard to say, as there is so much material to work with.

7. Name a sexually transmitted disease?

Syphillis

8. What's a common symptom of an STD?
Syphillitic canchres and sores, and eventual blindness and madness

9. At what grade should schools teach sex education (if allowed)?

Year 7, or the mean age for the onset of puberty, which grows increasingly younger.

10. Who is the most famous teen role model today?

I would not know much on who the teens of today look up to.
If you ask me who they should, that is a complicated answer: Stakhanov, Dzherzinsky, me of course, Jon Shannow, Macduff, Baldur Von Schirach, Oberst Kurt Steiner, Sydney Carton, Harry Potter, Sturm Brightblade - the list could go on.

11. What is the first word you ever said?

"Death" or something to that effect, when asked to pass sentence on a miscreant.

12. What should the legal drinking age be?

18, one would suppose.

13. What should the legal driving age be?

18. Anything earlier punished by defenestration.

14. What time should curfew be for a 12 year old?

They should not be going out. Going out to play during the day, or staying over at a friends house, or going to a supervised party are permissable, as is going into town after school for a short while.
But not unaccompanied night moves.

15. What time should curfew be for a 15 year old?

Similar to the above. Should not go out; should work on studies.
Therefore, curfew 1730 or 1800.

16. What time should curfew be for a 17 year old?

2200 at the latest.

17. At what age should parents start talking to their kids about sex?

Whenever they feel it appropriate and necessary. As said above, this depends on the individual child.

18. What's the most important subject taught in school?

It is hard to split English and History. The sciences and mathematics have their place, but the key humanities teach how to think, and provoke thought on the human condition. Science may teach us how we live, and perhaps even why, but the humanities give us an insight into how we SHOULD lead our lives, and other paramount questions.

19. What's the best reason not to smoke cigarettes?

Addiction, and eventual death.

20. Give one word how 11 September affected you?

Hardened (resolve)

21. What's your favorite TV sitcom?

Malcolm in the Middle

22. Give one word to describe what you think about Music Television (MTV or your equivalent)

I do not really like the structure of music video programs as they are at the moment. Too much bad music, vulgarity, profanity and foolishness.
I look forward to the day when such programs are programmable by the individual viewer, in the manner of video jukeboxes in pubs, so that they may choose what they see. It would increase popularity, and many would participate for a small annual fee.

23. [applies to US] Name an organization in your community that helps teens.

24. Name a favorite pastime of teens

Unfortunately, sulking, skulking and masturbation seem to preoccupy many, instead of proper pastimes.

25. How could the community better serve teens?

I would rather say, how can teens better serve their community.

26. What's the main reason teens get in trouble today?

A lack of discipline and respect in society, brought on by excessive permissiveness, foolish advocates, and a breakdown in the traditional structures that served well. Society has changed, but this is no reason for teens to play up and been mollycoddled for it.

27. Name a positive activity that helps keep teens out of trouble?

Sporting clubs, working in the community, meaningful manual and other labour, and broad based organisations like the Hitler Youth. ( but without the Hitler and Nazi bit ;) )

28. Name a good reason for teens to get a job or do volunteer work?

Learning the value and rewarding virtues of work and service.
