Of course Knights can upgrade to Sipahi. It has been possible to upgrade to any UU ever since a patch in Vanilla.

Did you trade Banking to anybody but Americans? The AI always trades things around, and better you get the bonus from them than they do.
 
It says in the civilopedia: Knight--Upgrades to Sipahi.
The Americans have chemistry, but besides us 2, I think only 1 or 2 other civs have banking. None of them had more than 3 gold, so I didn't bother trading it.

Most of them are slaves. There's no more than 2 natives in the bunch.

Where is iron located in Arabia? Do they have more than one?
If we have a stack near an iron resource, then we should attack that city. If they don't have iron, then we won't have to face MIs.

This is my "got it" post, I have downloaded the save. If it works, I will play tonight. I think Ansars require Iron, but not totally sure. They do require horses, which can also be pillaged. I think we may want some Sipahi Armies, as their stats (8/3/3) will make an army that will never be beaten til tanks and bombers come along, and that is far away. We should have already won by that point.

Ansars require iron, so yeah, we should pillage it. However, their bound to get gunpowder soon, so we should also pillage the saltpeter, as I don't fancy Knights vs. Muskets.

No, had only just got Feudalism when the MIs started appearing in my turn-set. They aren't anywhere near gunpowder. I think unit support is killing them worse than it kills us :smug: . Overseer- remember armies in PTW can't blitz, don't get extra movement, all that. I don't think it's worth it.

I think you should make a massive army & navy & destroy america before they get really hard to kill units... to bad you guys didnt settle on the east side of your continent :( it would of sped things up alot quicker. By the way in PTW can leaders rush Wonders? because I know you can in Vanilla.

Guys, use some of that gold for Knight->Sipahi Upgrades. This is loose 5CC, so you can capture a city or two, hope it has barracks, and pile knights into the city to upgrade them to Sipahi. Just a thought...

Played a couple turns, & we have another leader!
 
Sorry Tassle, no one has ported CivAssist 2 over to the Mac yet. A team member in another SG has the same problem, no access to a utility program like CA2 or MapStat. Maybe start a thread in the Mac Forum and beg....
I see we have another leader, I recommend using it for Smith's or finishing Magellan's, as I have no doubts on getting Newton's. Another thing I was wondering is whether we waste 12 turns researching towards Shakespeare's Theatre or just research sanitation and build hospitals? We are on the verge of getting our free tech to begin the IA, so hope for Steam Power. Our war-road would be better as a railroad.
