Welcome to game 160 in the 6OTM Series! These games will allow new and old GOTM fans to try out the new features in Civ6 in a friendly environment. Participants are encouraged to post questions, stories, advice, tricks and failures in the dedicated game threads (described below). Each game will specify the Civ you will play and the Victory Condition to strive for. We will be working to refine the 6otM concept as we move ahead with the series. Gifting of cities is an exploit in a religious VC as the AI cant see that it will lose if it accepts the cities.

Must Read!
We would like to ask you to abide by our most sacred rule: Don’t replay any turns! If you make a mistake, accept it and try to recover. To ensure fair play and prevent results exclusions, please set your Autosaves to 1 turn. In the event of a computer crash while playing, just reload to the previous save and play it as closely to how you played it the first time. Please let Leif know (via Conversation (Private Message)) if you experienced a crash and how many turns you replayed.

Hmmm... Settle on the Grapes? Not much for Campus location, but maybe squish it up next to the volcano and then pack the Gov. Plaza up against it? I'm looking forward to flip-flopping golden age building with non-golden neighbor stomping... My favorite way to play! Perhaps some ocean to the west for Corsair adventures...? ❤️

Another potential place for a campus, if you settle on the grapes, would be 1W of capital next to the mountain, then the gov plaza NW of capital for a +3 campus still without the volcano risk. Even then allows a +4 commercial hub NE of capital.

Does game mode Barbarians mean Barabrian clans? or just that Barbs are turned on?

How late do you think I can build my first campus and still get a sub 200 game? 4th city?

Been a minute since I played one of these but this start is so broken good I cannot pass it up.

Quick question as it will come into play I am sure.
If I secure a domination victory before a science victory can I post the screen shot of the turn I secure the science victory? It will also show that I had won the game in the world rankings screen.

Unlike culture science victory is a static finish line so once the you travel the 50 it’s over no matter what.

We provide a target for victory condition in order to make the games played more comparable. You are not locked to that condition, you may follow whatever course you choose.

To directly answer your question, yes you may post the Science Victory Screenshot.

It really depends. I often place campuses so they will be cheaper when I get around to construction, but don't build them right away so often have 3-4 cities before I complete my first one.

Awesome.
Thank you. I have done a couple “No modes every victory before 200” games so I figured I would see what I could do here.

The start is incredibly strong for the game modes and difficulty you have chosen.

I find even in science games early campuses just are not worth the investment. Really early campuses only pay off in domination games imo.

It’s faster and more efficient to focus on expanding early and then going 100% production into science mid/late game

I'm going to play this and will place my first city in place, rather than the grapes. Because I really prefer to utilize the volcano eruption spaces for population work, rather than wasting those spaces to districts, which will keep requiring me to rebuild the destructions repeatedly.
