Welcome to the 6otM192 After Actions Report (AAR) thread.

STOP - Please do not continue reading this thread until you have completed and submitted your game.

In this thread you can post the results of your game. Please state your victory/loss turn/date (preferably in the post title) and describe your path to glory in this post! Please attach your victory save to your post. Players are encouraged to provide feedback on the game. Please use spoiler tags for any surprise details you'd like kept hidden. Thank you.

If this is a replay, please indicate 'REPLAY' at the top of your post. If you conduct regular restarts, please indicate 'RELOADS' at the top of your post. More posting helps us all get play better as we understand the methods of others, but want to clearly distinguish between a first run through without reloads and other submissions as it is much harder to recover in game from the mistakes we all make.

Some questions to consider answering.
- What was your plan for achieving the VC? What are the major steps you planned to take? What events, if any, changed the plan in execution and to what new plan? Any interesting decision points?
- Where did you settle your capital and first few cities?
- What were your initial 5-10 builds in the capital or other early cities?

- Early order for technology/civics? What did you prioritize for technology/civics?
- How did the leader bonus and civ unique ability impact your plan/play, if at all?
- How many cities did you settle and/or capture?
- What were key production/purchase focuses? Military units / Civilian units / Districts & city development / Wonders / Civ Unique Unit & Infrastructure? Most critical or interesting?
- Pantheon chosen and why? Religious beliefs chosen, and why?
- What governments did you select? What key policy cards did you use? Why?
- Which Governors were most important; when and why?
- Was diplomacy/trading useful? How? Relations with other civs?
- When did you have Dark/Golden ages?
- How did the map affect your gameplay?
- Any surprises/frustration/elations you ran into, how did you deal with it?
- Did you enjoy your game?

Turn 325 SV, score 2754. I always seem to go big and wide, and there was a lot of real estate on this map. Dido's ability to retain loyalty really helped out a lot - allowing me to colonize other parts of Europe. I ended up with 55 cities, most of which were natively settled, although I did have a long-standing war with Poland, from which I captured a couple cities, and there were a few free cities that flipped to me. My top three cities had 32, 31, and 39 population. I took Desert Folklore and Work Ethic for my religion, along with Religious Colonization, and the science with followers belief. Since there was a lot of desert, where I was settling desert cities I usually started with a holy site, a trader, and then plopped down a preserve, because my Eiffel Tower allowed me to build some self-sustaining desert cities. I also managed a city north of my capital that held both Great Zimbabwe and Torre de Bellum, and with maintaining a few strong alliances, that city became my science project hub - it brought in an incredible amount of gold, production and food through trade. Overall - a big fun game.

Turn 238(1635.) science victory, score 1262. I played peacefully. I settled only the best places of the vast available area. Barbarian activity delayed my settling near Nile. Some neighbouring cities in Middle east joined my empire and became very productive in mining.

SV 221

Spoiler t221 :

One of the longest game I have played in years.

The terrain was absolutely brutal. Half of the map is Africa and Middle East, which is absolutely useless, and their only purpose in the game was to flood me with Barbarians. I actually haven't managed to eradicate them for the entire game - there were about 4 barbarian camps that were just sending waves after waves of units. Even with superior units and naval support, they have managed to break through 3 or 4 times (out of like 10 waves they sent throughout the game).

The other half of the map was prediminantly western asian plains and Mediterranean Sea. Just a horrible map. And yet, it was extremely fun. It was challenging without being overly tedious.

I did make some naval conquests against Greece and later Rome, but it came at a price of most of the world constantly declaring wars on me through emergencies. Fortunately, I was able to lock down alliances with Gilgamesh, Tamar and Jadwiga beforehand, so I always had a couple of people to trade with. There was also no way for any kind of chopping later on, so the game dragged on for 200+ turns, as the projects had to be finished 'manually'. Not being able to accelerate new cities via convenient chops was also slowing me down heavily.

Very fun game, thanks for the save

Spoiler I won, somehow :

I've nenver managed to play Immortal, so this was a bit of a step up for me. Tried to go Desert Folklore/Work Ethic to get use out of all of the desert close by. Managed to get the Pantheon but not the religion unfortunately  Also took the wrong dedication in Medieval after getting a normal age; I took Monumentality when I should have taken the Eurekas one. Eventually expanded to 13 cities and was slowly building spaceship project when I see Ludwig has launched the Exoplanet Expedition  I was a full stage behind him, halfway through bulding the Martian leg of the VC. Thanksfully, due to his absolute refusal to speed up the expedition (I think a few emergencies that were targetting Ludwig helped distract him from this tbh, I was also using spy missions to sabotage his spaceport districts ) I was able to catch up and pass him out with the help of the Royal Society :smug:) Won in turn 345 for my 1st ever Immortal victory on any civ game . Thanks for creating this, it was great fun right to the end.

SV 232

Fun game, tried various things to optimize, so I was happy to get to Feudalism a couple of turns before t80. The terrain did not help to achieve more synergy among my cities. I have seen that there will be not much chopping for space parts, so I was actively scouting for lang grab opportunities with lots of forests. The opportunity presented itself when I managed to settle north of Modern day Spain, as Portugal was harrassed by barbs so its settling pattern was all over the place... The settlement was to grab the 2 Coals, which was quite scarce anywhere else that I could access. To the south west of that city I settled another one that accessed 5-6 woods, 2-3 deers, and I bougth all the districts with Reina and a few trade routes made it a really good city. I bought the Spaceport there as well, and used all the chops for the Scapecraft speed increasing projects, I made 6 of those in that city, while I made a few others in the other 3 Spaceports. This made it viable to finish the trip to Alpha Centauri within 9 turns.

Thanks for the game!
