I would really have preferred the Aplekton to be its own unique improvement, rather than a stronger version of an existing one. we have several existing examples of UIs with tile defense already; the main thing that replacing an existing improvement does is remove the need for a unique build prerequisite.

Hopefully we can come up with something at a later time.
 
There's no reason for the UI to break consistency by being a replacement.
