This is similar to my originally proposed version from the last congress, but now a Pikeman replacement.
With the +2 embarked sight and ocean embarkation that makes every land unit good at exploring, a Scout UU is a role overlap.
As a melee unit that can embark and disembark fast, this Maori Warrior is quick at improving all sea resources when establishing new offshore cities (usually on islands), as well as fending off barbarians that may spawn on nearby islands.

Intentionally made unappealing if obtained by any other civ. But this is Polynesia, who can easily achieve an early ship rush with Galleys and Liburnas. Supply helps Vaka Nui to succeed in this even far away from homeland.
EDIT 1: Maori Warrior is back to being a Pikeman replacement. Stats are slightly adjusted accordingly.

Vaka Nui rename to Waka Taua everything the same exept unique promotions "Sacrifice to the Sea" - Heal 15 HP on kill and earn 200% of enemy CS as Faith. "Combat bonus when attacking (25)" Current art/model can be used Rationale: Reconnaissance on Philosophy seems to be useless for Polynesia...
