Counterproposal to (9-107) "Yamato" rework.
Motivation/Rationale
While I agree that Yamato comes too late, I'm not convinced that it needs a major rework yet. This unit has a lot in its favor to merit being an UU, among them being a historical superweapon, and we haven't explored simpler ways to address the late unlock.
Here, I explore part of Yamato's history: the ship was launched and commissioned before any great power started conducting their respective nuclear program, in game represented by the Manhattan Project. In contrast, its American counterpart, the USS Iowa, was commissioned while the Manhattan Project was ongoing. This opens the possibility of moving the Yamato one tech column back; as it is now, you can only unlock the Yamato when everyone (yourself included) had long unlocked the Manhattan Project and had plenty of time to complete it.
The earlier commission date isn't by chance either: Yamato was conceived much earlier than the battleship portraited in Atomic Era, as it was meant to preemptively counter the next generation of battleship that the Americans would build. Notably, the designers knew the future American battleships would take into considerations the restrictions of the Panama Canal for its proportions, meaning Yamato's capabilities could be designed around what those future battleships could be equipped with; Yamato's 460mm guns had penetration in excess to defeat the best armor those proportions could allow (giving the future USS Iowa no immunity zone vs Yamato; a.k.a. no distance in which Iowa's armor could prevent Yamato's shells from penetrating and detonating inside a vital part of the ship), and the 410mm armor belt + 230mm deck armor meant that Yamato had a very generous immunity zone against the best guns that America's next generation of battleships could bring.
These preemptive considerations are both what made the Yamato be commissioned earlier, and why its capabilities are such to the point of being a superweapon. This move to Early Atomic would match history and may be just enough to make the UU's tech unlock reasonable enough. I think this is worth exploring before jumping to major reworks of such an iconic unit.

Problems:
Yamato comes too late.
The "iconic" status of "Yamato" blocks other possible ships which could replace it as UU.
Proposal:
Rename "Yamato" to "Senkan" - a standard japanese term for battleships.
Change "Senkan" to be unique Dreadnought instead of Battleship.
Add 25 Unique names to "Senkan".
