OOC: I don't know why everyone kept going on about mediation. I sent in orders right before I made that post, and then by the time I checked the thread the next morning, the warning that "No Revisions would be accepted" had been posted. So even if I had wanted to mediate, it would have been impossible, as I was asleep when such calls were being made.

In the past, this meant complete isolation however the world has changed and your aggressive and imperialist dispositions and enthusiasm for war have displayed this to the Japanese people first hand. In the modern world, the preservation of the Samurai culture must be defended by connecting and building relations with other nations of the international world, lest we become prey to conniving, ambitious mad men such as those in your government.

Our people have fished these waters for generations without the slightest instance of confrontation, yet suddenly waves of Korean fisherman are encroaching on them. OOC: All this recent false information, over exageration and explosive counter-argument/actions remind me of recent events since 2000. Discuss in WWW if you want, but just saying I find this all really amusing.

Especially for the fact that I don't really care since I am out of reach of most of this.

EDIT: Hey EQ, what is the set up of player stories over moderator update? The update said that Korean fishers are in Japanese fishing areas and moved into their areas. Korea says that all the area is always a Korean fishing area, and that japan started it. Japan wrote a story about the fishers resisting korean fishers, one of whom took a gun.
My view:
Japan Sees:
Korean Fishers in Japan Waters-> Korean Fishers not leaving-> Honor affected-> Fight back for the fish and food

Korea Sees:
It is all Korean waters in first place-> We belong here-> Japanese fishers angry at us-> Japanese fishermen fighting-> we fight back

So it is a question of either who fought first (Japanese fishers, seemingly) or who violated international law (depending on that Korean Waters all around Honshu treaty)

What has occurred to make you say that the Japanese are the primary "firestarters?" What government policies do you refer to? There are none. It is the Korean government which has ordered it's fishing navies into what has historically been Japanese fishing lanes. Why would our fishermen suddenly decide to start violence? After so many generations of peaceful fishing? The peasant classes depend on the sea for survival and the wanton and out of control Korean poaching is causing starvation and plunging many communities into poverty. We are trying to bring Japan forward and these assaults on our sovereignty only succeed in holding our people back.

Nice speech. Fact is, Virginia goes to war with New England because New England attacked our ally without credible provocation. New England brought this war upon herself.

How do you expect to get this message to our people?

The point is we're saying you should have brought the accusations to the surface BEFORE declaring war, so we could investigate and mediate the issue during this update. Instead you declared war and sent orders right at the deadline. How convenient
