So, I've been enjoying playing Civ V lately and decided to write a (crappy) poem about it. I hope you enjoy. :)

Civilization V

The gears of war do turn,
In a world naught for peace.
Buildings ruined, civilizations burned,
These atrocies do not cease.

Conquer forth and ride unto dawn,
For there your victory lies.
Your foe breaks rank and has withdrawn,
You have broken the once binding ties.

A tyrant's rise, a tyrant's fall?
Who are they to say?
Their withered minds cannot recall,
Their friends they did betray.

States are forged not by paper and words;
No, it is on the field of battle - in glory -
That they take what is theirs,
That they make for themselves their legend - their story.

To Arabia! To China! To the Barbary Coast!
Nothing escapes the reach of your Empire.
To Russia! To Songhai! All have played host!
Nothing escaptes the reach of your Empire.

Now take your settler and pick a location,
All the ranks you have climbed -
Can you build a civilization,
To stand the test of time?

Awesome poem, the only thing i would change is the dual line. It just doen't flow as well.

(No Ideas here BTW)

Yeah... that dual line sucks... but, it was midnight and I couldn't think of anything that rhymed with Empire... so I said eff it.
