A.D 200 no Leader, A.D 260 two Leaders!

My friend Timmy (my girlfriends son) was playing last night as the Germans. He always plays relatively aggressively (unlike my "build loads of cities, lots of culture, attack when you are ahead" strategy). Anyway, in the same battle with the Russians he got TWO Great Leaders!!!!

He now has a victorious one and has built the Heroic Epic (more leaders?) and will be able to make armies of Panzers later via the Military Academy - awsome!

Anyway, what is the greatest number of leaders any of you have got in one game and how quickly can you then conquer the world (with armies of Panzers )?

never had more then one at any time, but i`ve twice gotten one, turned him into an army in the same turn, attacked with another elit unit and gotten another leadeer.

anyone who has had several leaders simultanously: can you please post a savegame with them (not armies but leaders!!!)

Timmys game was the same as yours. It was the same battle for a Russian city but he got a second GL as soon as he turned the first one into an army.

Anyway, how many armies and leaders did you get in these 2 games?

LOTS!

If you`re militaristic and have the heroic epic and lots of elite units you can sometimes build every wonder by rushing.... One game I built all great wonders except 3 plus the Military Academy from leaders.

Then there`s games where I don`t get a leader at all, despite constant fighting....

I have got 13 leaders in my current game (now mid-1600). I´m playing the Iroquis:

I am now at peace waiting for a wonder to become available. I´ll then rush it with my leader and start a new war.

I am 90% sure I have had two leaders at once - i.e. on the Military Advisor, there were two guys in the "Available Leaders" box. But it would naturally happen very rarely, just because they are so darn useful...the first one makes an army for effect and for the heroic epic (sometimes I load one swordsman into the army so I can get a win immediately, and fill it up later), the second may rush the forbidden palace or a new palace, the third through sixth may rush important wonders, especially if you are lucky enough to get them coming in the middle ages.

But if I ever have evidence (i.e. a saved game), I'll be sure to post it! My current game looks won, so maybe I'll let a leader sit around for a while for once. (Playing as militaristic Japan...my goodness those Samurai can wreak some havoc!
And thousand-year wars are great for leader generation! Thank heavens for Monarchy...
