Whilst playing a game to test out the new corporations mode for the game, I encountered a situation where one of my cities was sitting on a cross between three rivers. One of the rivers went into my rival's territory, one went up north and out of the territory, and the last one continued into my city.

This river turned out to be one that was favoured by the random flood event algorithm, so I decided to build a dam on the north-going river. Then, after my rival started construction on a dam on their side of the border, the river flooded again, so I decided to build one more on my side, to beat potentially cripple their production (making them waste turns on a dam they don't get.

Turns out I miscalculated, and their dam finished first. Not really a huge deal, since my city already had one dam, and I was beating them in every other regard anyways. Except, that wasn't the last of it. I soon noticed, that when their dam finished, not only did my dam on the same river get deleted, but also the other dam, which I'd already built a hydroelectric dam upgrade on. Not only that, but I couldn't build any new dams in the city, meaning that I'd lost the dam that i already had.

What I figure happened is that when my opponent's dam finished, it registered that my dam had become illegal, and promptly removed all dams in my city. Including the one that preceded the enemy one.

Not cool devs plz fix.

Update: Tried using military engineers to artificially speed up the construction of my dam, which kept both my dams intact. This strengthens my hypothesis, I'd think.
