well, i'm bored so i'm gonna post a challenge. beat the game WITHOUT passing ancient times! can you dominate with spearmen? can you cultivate the world without anything but the beggining wonders? can you reign supreme with cavemen?:)
this should be interesting, i'll post tonight!

p.s. good luck to all takers!

m'kay, i made it to the end of the ancient times at 430 a.d.,
and i've stopped science entirely. it's been an interesting game,
i found i was on an island with the romans below, the greeks above, and the iroquis to the side. VERY early on i got in a war with rome (3250) and it ended 2 turns later. later on at 1950
i allied with the iroquis (for a steep price) against the romans. one Rome and veii later, there is peace. Rome is still furious, but i don't mind, they're no serious threat, i'm on good terms with hiawatha,(though my foreign adviser keeps reminding me that he's a back stabber, even though he backstabbed on my order:D )
things are going well even though my bands of elite swordsmen should be challenged by the pikemen everyone's on the verge of discovering, oh well, i should be able to hold out at least until the
industrial ages

i... have been digraced. The year 1294, the enemy, Rome, whom i had previously beaten the crap out of, sent several guys on ponies with pointy iron sticks, they were an invasion of pikemen and knights, my swordsmen never stood a chance:cry:
oh, well only 54 lookers to this post at this point after all, not too many people to witness this defeat:o

I DID IT! I DID IT!!!

yea.. just now... and it was f***ing awesome.

Game Parameters:

Difficulty: Regent
World: Pangaea
Ocean: 60%
Size: tiny
Civ: Persians
Opponents: 3 random (ended up as Babs, Egyptians, Indians)

The Win:

Conquest in 430 AD (researching construction - in the ancient times)
Score: 7588 pts (2nd highest for HOF!!!)

Here's the game, for proof:

...but on a tiny pangea map with 60% land and set to regent, anyone who couldn't achieve a military victory before the end of the ancient times deserves to be shot out into space and left to slowly die.

I know, it is annoying when someone says, "All due respect, but (Insert Insult Here)," but I couldn't leave this issue unaddressed.
