Back in the '80s and '90s, Japanese model maker / artist Kow Yokoyama teamed with Hobby Japan to make "S.F.3.D". The basic premise was two competing groups trying to re-settle a post-apocalyptic Earth (one group was rather like the Hermann Goering Division visits the 23rd Century). Some very interesting powered armor -- not much bigger than the actual "pilots", yet presumably waldo controlled -- and VERY small AFVs and aircraft.

Best links are here and here .

These look grand, Oz! I hope someone takes them into consideration.

th eair craft is interesting, but basically, I just dont see these "mini mechs" being very useful on the combat scene...

Why not? The game goes to 2050 CE, and these (mini-? pre-? proto-?) mechas clearly have some internal power source, so they're providing their occupants with all the traditional advantages of SF "armor". If mechas are 2040 CE perhaps these are 2030 CE ...

I found this picture ages ago in my rambling travels online and always wondered where it came from. It seems to be showing the markings for use on a model, but it shows multiple angles of that first powered suit.

That sounds awesome! Nevermind the giant robot thing. I'm not particularly a fan of the concept. But so much the better. I like the basic concept.
