I looked through about ten pages of tech support threads and searched in other sections, but couldn't find anything. So I apologize in advance if these questions have been answered before.
I have just have a few general questions in regards to game mechanics that have been very frustrating and I can't figure out how to fix them (if there is a way at all). So here goes:
1. Is there a way to make it so that when your units are under attack, you get centered in on the action? Often times my turn will start, and I will be taken to one of my cities because building has just finished and it asks me what I want to build next, and I am stuck with that popup build menu thing until I click something for it to build. Meanwhile, some AI is attacking my units at the other end of the map, but I cannot scroll to go see what's happening. By the time I finish telling all my cities what to do, the fight is over.
2. For some reason, it no longer zooms in on combat for me, and so I never hear any combat sound effects. The units just start battling, but it never automatically zooms in on the fight as it used to.
3. When it asks me what technology it wants me to research next, is there any way to "look at the big picture" and examine the tiles around my cities before picking? Sometimes I can't remember if I want animal husbandry or masonry or what.
This question isn't so much tech support, but might as well ask it here anyway:
4. When you instruct a worker to build a "trade network," I understand he endeavors to connect all of your cities with roads. Is there any way to instruct a worker to build a road/railroad in EVERY SINGLE tile in your culture radius?
Thanks for the help; I appreciate it.
