I'm happy to announce that after many years of playing Games of the Month of Civ2, we will start this month with game number 100, a great milestone for this great game. I hope that this month a lot of players will try and play the game. To download the game, visit this page.

Last two months we've been busy changing the original Civ2 GOTM pages. The work is not completed yet, but the new pages are ready to use. If you're interested in playing the Civ2 GOTM you can check out the new Civ2 GOTM pages on the main site.

Or, you can look at the GOTM threads in the Civ2 forum.

And of course, a screenshot of the starting location:

I don't know if it looks like GOTW in civ rev. It's just playing a normal civ2 game but sometimes there are some suprises in it like extra barbarian cities or a very hard map (with lot of desert and jungle squares). Just give it a try. It nice to have a lot of people playing the GOTM games....

Ah I wish I had saved my old maps. Civ2 had the best map editor. The map editor has been one of the biggest disappointments with Civ3 and Civ4 for me.
