Civ3 is a huge improvement over Civ2, but the changes possible in a Civ4 implementation are staggering. Changes to the basic design of the game engine can radically improve game realism,
and scenario design, while leaving the game popularly accessible.

This thread is for folks to advance ideas about how Civ4 can be improved via changes to it's game engine. It is not a place to discuss how many hit points a monrovian camel grenadier should get, but is a place to discuss how technologies such as the Internet, SQL, Fractals, Fuzzy Logic, or 140 gig harddrives might be used to inprove game play and scenario design.

Nor is this intended to be a place to share valuable or top secret plans from work. Ideas should be general not 'patentable' or 'patented'. I'm not intending this as a place to post algorythms, but potentially useful ideas.

This is not a forum in any way linked to the programmers of the civilization series of games, but is addressed to their dream factory.
